It's Day 54 and we're in Exodus 32.
We finished at Exodus 20 a while back with the Ten Commandments. Now we finish up the story with the pathetic actions of Israel in response.
Where God Spoke To Me:
- Verse 6 - It's amazing how quickly they got off track. Why did that happen so quickly? Two things are key: 1. Israel, as seen by their whining in previous chapters, didn't have their hearts into following God, so they were eager to turn aside; 2. Aaron was not a mature leader (see verses 22-24).
Help:
- Verses 27-29 - This seems harsh, but apparently that severe a response was necessary to wake the people up to how bad what they were doing was.

Your Questions and Comments:
- "Sorry to bother but this really confused me. Why in John 21 v 15-17 does Jesus question 3 times especially when he knows what is in Simon’s heart? Then in v 18-19 I’m totally confused by someone taking an older person where they don’t want to go. I know this probably isn’t to be taken literally but it confuses me in context of Jesus feeding people, asking about love and following him and betrayal." - Why does Jesus question Peter three times? The Bible doesn't specifically tell us but I think the most likely answer goes back to Peter denying Christ. Peter denied three times and now Jesus gives him the opportunity to state his faithfulness to Christ three times. The comments in verses 18-19 refer to the death that Peter would end up dying for his faith. Tradition has that he was crucified upside down. That would fill both "stretch out your hands" and "lead you where you do not want to go."
