60IN60 Day 16 - Tues Mar 22
It's Day 49 and we're in Genesis 47.
Where God Spoke To Me:
- Verse 9 - "few and unpleasant have been the years of my life" - After all the blessings God has given him and this is his attitude? It's amazing how ungrateful we can be.
Help:
- Verse 3 - Joseph had just told them (46:34) not to say that. Fortunately it didn't bring the bad result expected.
- Verse 25 - Big sacrifice, but desperation leads to that.
- Verse 29 - "hand under my thigh" - It seems weird to us, but then again saying "they finalized their agreement by pressing the palms of their hands together" would be weird too. But we shake hands anyway.

Your Questions:
- "Don't you think Joseph's brothers would have been curious about why Joseph was so interested in their family? And why he insisted on them bringing Benjamin when they came back? I would have been. And don't you think Jacob would have been furious with his sons when he found out - surely he found out at some point - how Joseph came to be in Egypt? I would have been." - Yes, I think they might have thought it odd that this leader was so interested in their family, but the last place they'd have gone with it was that this was Joseph. After all, they presumed him to be dead or rotting as a slave somewhere. And yes, I think Jacob would have been furious when he found out. Of course, though, he bore a small part of the guilt in creating the animosity that led to that by showing favoritism to Joseph.
